*Courses taught for VFU were part of GHL’s mission of rapid response education, where university-level courses and instructors help deliver on-demand classes to students who have lost access to university in the wake of natural disaster or political upheaval. Myanmar suffered a military coup on 1 February 2021, leading to widespread protests, acts of violence, and the shuttering of traditional venues of higher education.
